Optoelectronic system on the Border Guard observation tower

The optoelectronic system designed and delivered to the Podlasie Border Guard Department in 2019 consists of elements installed on the observation tower, i.e. an optoelectronic head (daylight camera, thermal imaging camera with a cooling detector, laser rangefinder, pan-tilt platform) and an operator position at the Local Supervision Center in Kuźnica.

The operator's position is equipped with monitors as well as dedicated software and peripheral devices allowing observation, detection and recording of events.

This type of optoelectronic systems installed on the towers are dedicated for terrain observation and detection and recognition of objects in border areas. Thanks to optoelectronic systems, it is possible to observe, detect and register events such as making or attempting to cross a state border contrary to regulations or to smuggling into the EU customs territory. In addition, optoelectronic systems have a preventive effect, which has a significant impact on reducing smuggling and other offenses related to crossing the border.
