Marathon Targets makes the world’s most realistic live-fire training system for small-arms training. The targets are autonomous robots which can freely move around any training range without direct operator control. 

The robots are armored up to caliber .338 and carry a 3D target mannequin which can distinguish between kill and wound shots. The targets use Artificial Intelligence to react in a human-like manner: e.g. if one target is killed, it drops its mannequin and sends a message to the other targets which can scatter, or stage a coordinated counter-attack.

The system allows end users to train a variety of combat skills such as hitting a moving target reliably, shot timing, maintaining situational awareness, identifying and prioritizing targets, applying rules of engagement, team communication skills, fire control, dynamic warfighting etc. 

The targets can be used on any live-fire range, outdoors/indoors, day/night, for all types of applications such as sniping, CQB, and combined arms exercises.

The system has been in active use since 2008. Originally conceived by Australian Special Forces, end users around the world include the US Marine Corps, US Army, the Australian Army, UAE Armed Forces, and Dutch SF.
